Together, these objects provide enough information to monitor the various workloads and resource pools that you have defined. SQL Server:Resource Pools Stats contains counters for both memory and CPU utilization. Examples include the amount of memory used by the resource pool, the system CPU usage by all requests in the resource pool, and the number of query memory grants per second occurring in the resource pool. SQL Server:Workload Group Stats contains CPU usage counters, as well as queryrelated information, such as the number of requests waiting in the queue due to Resource Governor limits. To demonstrate using these counters, let s continue with our example of two resource pools and four workload groups.
